I am a functional unbalanced person and here are my tips and tricks to how I trick people into thinking I'm organized. All jokes aside, learning to prioritize and set a schedule for yourself is an extremely important skill not just in terms of school but in your social life too. Sometimes it's about missing an hour or two of sleep to hang out with your friends to de-stress or it's about doing the opposite of that. Each person has their own way to deal with stress and it's important that you learn what works for you!

MAKE A CALENDAR/ SCHEDULE

Keeping an online calendar makes it easy to keep track of plans/ event

  1. Create a task list for the day/ week

  2. Set internal deadlines for yourself

  3. FOLLOW YOUR SCHEDULE!

SET PRIORITIES

  1. Create a list of all your tasks

    To do lists are always fun to make! And, they are a great way to declutter your brain when you have too many things on your mind. 

  2. Assess importance

    1. Time sensitive (upcoming deadlines)

    2. Assess value (how important it is to you)

  3. Understand your role in each task 

    1. Are you the project manager? You need to be able to understand what is required of you from your role

    2. Are you a member of a team? Come prepared to listen and learn. 


Stay active 

  1. Healthy body = healthy mind

  2. We’re part of a dragonboat team so remember what your fitness is for: it’s for you AND your team)

  3. Diet

    1. Macros are important but don’t forget about micronutrients!!!

      1. Eat fruits and veggies

    2. Enjoy a cheat day

  4. Spend time with friends and family

  5. Leave time for yourself 

    1. Treat yourself - you deserve it!

Plan Ahead

Once you have a to-do list and understand how to prioritize… it’s time to plan how you can tackle each task. 

Always break things down to small steps so it’s easier to accomplish.
